This immaculate 1967 Iso Grifo GL fuses the arched and curving shapes of prominent Italian GT design, with the performance and dependability of high horsepower American motors. The Grifo was produced between 1965 and 1974 by Italian manufacturer Iso Autoveicoli. The Iso Grifo was built to compete with Ferrari and Maserati GT's and was introduced around the same time as Lamborghini.
The Corvette 327 cubic-inch V8 came standard with a Borg-Warner 4-speed manual transmission. With a total weight of just over 2,200 pounds and an estimated 365 horsepower, the Grifo was easily 150+ MPH car. Giorgetto Giugiaro of Bertone is responsible for the head-turning good looks, while mechanical performance and engineering is attributed to former Ferrari engineer Giotto Bizzarrini.
After WWII the Rivolta family began producing small, efficient, and most importantly inexpensive transportation devices. This included scooters and even the Isetta bubble car. The 2-seater micro-car was later licensed by BMW and ran as one of the most successful compact vehicles in Europe. After a few years of economic growth post-WWII, Rivolta moved to a more refined and performance-driven GT cars.
